Welcome!
This is a site devoted to my personal interests of gardening, making things, and cooking.
The gardening is happening in South Florida, and that's what I started my original site with, since there was very little information on this part of the country at the time on the Internet. That has changed, but readers tell me that site is still useful to them, and I am very happy for that. The gardening area does get updated every so often.
After becoming a migraineur, I shifted my gardening more toward perennials, freeing some time to indulge in handcrafts, many of which I first learned as a child from my grandmother, but never actually became proficient in (my other favorite activites are reading and listening to music, which took up most of my free time later on). This area will get updated most often, and sometimes that will include a tutorial, or an "evolution of a project" page.
About three years ago, it was discovered that I have Celiac Disease, and must never eat gluten again. I had already been interested in eating and exercising for health, so transitioning to a gluten free diet has been fairly easy. Lately, I am going a step further into a Primal lifestyle, which I feel works well for me. I eat Primally six days a week, allowing some grain and dairy and a little sugar, all in reasonable amounts, on day seven. Knowing I can have whatever I like on a particular day keeps me from falling off the wagon the rest of the week. I will post recipes and recommendations (links, suppliers) in this area periodically.
Check the What's New page to learn about any updates, and I hope you enjoy the site. This is all about sharing, so please feel free to email me on any of these subjects: info[at]stonepylon[dot]com
